OneAmerica Redesigns Retirement Readiness Website, Offers Enhanced Tools
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, April 3, 2017 -- OneAmerica® announced the launch of a redesigned retirement readiness website where plan sponsors and plan participants can seek out vital information to fill the knowledge gap identified in a OneAmerica survey conducted last year.
With an extensive library of materials, the retirement readiness pages, prominently featured on the website of oneamerica.com, allow Plan Sponsors to focus on specific topics and resources that will resonate most with their employees. Likewise, participants can take advantage of content that pertains to them and their stage of life and retirement preparation.
"Our focus on retirement readiness is a streamlined way to educate plan sponsors and financial professionals on the importance of financial wellness for employees, while increasing awareness of the resources we have available to help employees' efforts to improve retirement outcomes based on our focus of financial wellness," said Marsha Whitehead, vice president of marketing, communications and customer experience for retirement services for the companies of OneAmerica.
The library of One Day is Today® education and communicational materials include Pete the Planner® financial wellness resources specifically designed by USA Today columnist and author, Peter Dunn.
Plan sponsors are directed to the "Retirement Readiness" section of OneAmerica.com under Financial Education. Plan participants will find information for various needs in the "Becoming Retirement Ready" section. Users can browse content by topic.
"Personal financial issues can have an impact on an employee's ability to think about and prepare for retirement," Whitehead said. "It is important for us to help plan sponsors and financial professionals understand how improved financial wellness can help lead to better retirement outcomes."
OneAmerica surveyed more than 10,000 retirement plan participants last year, asking respondents to self-identify their levels of knowledge across 10 retirement and personal finance-related topics. According to the survey results, only 40 percent of participants consider themselves either knowledgeable or very knowledgeable about retirement savings, specifically. OneAmerica acted on that need, and the website makes it easier to find helpful, pertinent videos and online calculators and content about student loan debt, tax issues, and preparing for retirement.
