Transamerica Retirement Services to Utilize 'Green Screen' Technology to Personalize Communications
LOS ANGELES, CA, October 21, 2004 -- Through the use of new in-house capabilities, Transamerica Retirement Services ("Transamerica") is providing clients, participants and sales force members with a new level of customized communication. The "Green Screen" technology -- similar to that used by broadcast television -- is designed to create multimedia presentations for their financial professional, client and participant channels, and for training opportunities within Transamerica.

The new studio is equipped with a Chroma Key Green Screen stage and an editing bay. The presentations produced in the studio combine digital video, music, graphics and text elements to create a richer, customized viewer experience.
Using chroma key technology, the presenter is filmed against a bright green background. With computer editing, the green background is removed and the presenter is superimposed over any background image or video. This creates the illusion of the speaker being in almost any location, or can be tailored to match a client's own branding. These presentations can be delivered via internet, intranet, email, CD, video, or DVD.
Some of the presentations that have been produced recently include "e-Tips" -- a customized electronic payroll stuffer designed for clients to send out to employees quarterly and "We've Jazzed Up our Web Site" -- a CD sent to Transamerica clients to promote the launch of the new web site.
