UMB Financial Launches 401k Podcast

KANSAS CITY, MO, December 20, 2005 -- UMB Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:UMBF) is reaching out to a younger generation via audio broadcasting by launching its first podcast, available live on Apple's iTunes and umb.com. UMB is one of the first financial institutions in the country to produce a podcast.

The UMB Financial Facts podcast, hosted by K.C. Mathews, Executive Vice President and Director of Portfolio Management at UMB, is the first in a series of three podcasts on financial basics. The first podcast covers 401K management.

"The beauty of podcasting is that there is no expiration," said Mathews. "Through podcasting, UMB is offering listeners a chance to learn how best to manage their money at their convenience."

Podcasts can be listened to via the browser of a home or office computer, or they can be downloaded to MP3 players and listened to when it is convenient.

"UMB has historically been a leader when it comes to technology," said Mariner Kemper, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Podcasts provide an easy-to-use, fun format for listeners to receive educational information about smart money management."

Listeners are encouraged to send comments and suggestions to podcast@umb.com.
