CFDD Announces Major Wraparound Events for the 2007 Advisor Conference
CHICAGO, IL, November 28, 2006 -- The CFDD is pleased to announce major wraparound events for their October 1-3, 2007 Advisor Conference, "Transitioning From Salesperson To Businessperson: Best Practices, Business Development & Marketing Skills" held in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Fairmont Princess Resort.
The expansive approach is designed to add major value and includes: a Continuing Education Program specifically tailored for retirement advisors, a McHenry hosted" Marketing Boot Camp" for advisors, a John Hancock managed Charity Golf Event with proceeds going to the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund, an exclusive three-hour "Managing Your Conference Experience" session for vendors and a Sunday evening Kick-Off Party.
Consistent with the wraparound theme, the 2007 conference agenda will include three different breakout sessions on industry designations for retirement advisors. The sessions will be populated by the designation providers and accomplished retirement advisors that hold the credentials, including team members that work with individuals. The designations represented include: CIMA, AIF, AIFA, PRP, QPFC, CRPS, CPA, CFA and CFP.
According to Phil Chiricotti, President of the CFDD, "Most retirement advisors already possess a few designations and are burdened with CE requirements. In spite of the alphabet soup of credentials, there are no designations truly applicable to retirement plan advisory services. Advisors are not impassioned about designations and many without credentials have taught the classes." Chiricotti further notes that "Credentials do not guarantee success and most sponsors don't understand them, but advisors are starting to recognize the importance of credentials, particularly in the investment area. If an appropriate designation were developed, retirement advisors would definitely pursue it."
Designation providers have an opportunity to increase market share, but the world of designations is in need of consolidation. To add value and facilitate the process, the CFDD's new website will provide due diligence on the major retirement plan advisory designations. An online learning hub offering CE credits for advisors unable to attend the conference is also under consideration. Additionally, the new website will provide coverage of the major conferences for the retirement industry and a job postings area for advisors.
As in the past, the 2007 interactive conference program was designed by the CFDD's advisor network and includes daily keynote speakers, presentations, panels, case studies, fifty different breakout sessions, breakfast, lunch and cocktail parties.
The CFDD's advisor-centric agendas are fresh, populated by a Who's Who in the Retirement Industry and forecasts where the industry is headed. The CFDD's advisor network controls the lion's share of retirement assets and more than fifty top retirement advisors will participate in the bottom-up agenda.
In addition to having their registration fee waived, advisors participating in the all business agenda benefit from a free conference CD-ROM and a major lead generation program. Additionally, the CFDD will pay their onsite CE Program costs and charity golf event player fees. The CFDD will also match all advisor donations to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to a pre-determined level.
All registrants benefit from a valuable menu of free/discounted products and services, including access to the CFDD's new website and the new Conference-Tools website. Conference-Tools is a joint venture between the CFDD and The McHenry Group and is expected to become the clearing house of information for conferences targeting the financial services industry.
Over 1,500 retirement specialists are expected to attend the industry event of the year and another early sell-out is expected. More than 50% of the exhibition booths are already sold and early registration is encouraged.
Rated five-diamond by AAA, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort is a premier meeting facility with a spa ranked among the nation's best. The negotiated room rates represent a significant discount and are applicable to both pre and post-conference dates, providing an ideal opportunity to incorporate a family vacation.
