Don Trone Appointed to Head Coast Guard Leadership Institute

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA, October 15, 2007 -- Donald B. Trone, president of the Foundation for Fiduciary Studies and the founder of Fiduciary360, has been selected to be the first Director of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Institute for Leadership.

A provision in Trone's appointment permits him to continue to lead the Foundation for Fiduciary Studies, and to remain active in the financial services industry. For the past week, Trone has been contacting key clients with the news of his appointment: "Let me assure you that I am not leaving you; nor am I going to lose my focus on fiduciary responsibility. On the contrary, the very subject of 'leadership' is intertwined with 'fiduciary responsibility.' A great investment advisor should possess the characteristics of a great leader; and a great leader should possess an understanding of the fiduciary concepts of stewardship and covenant."

Don Trone, who graduated as president of his class at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1977 and served nearly ten years as a Coast Guard long-range helicopter pilot, will be returning to the Coast Guard after a more than twenty-year break in service. His new mission will be to develop the concept of "leadership" for the Coast Guard along the same lines that he developed the concept of "fiduciary responsibility" in the financial world.

Trone will be working alongside Admiral James S. Loy, who was the Commandant of the Coast Guard during 9/11, and went on to become the first Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security. ADM Loy has coauthored two books on Coast Guard leadership, Character in Action: The U.S. Coast Guard on Leadership, and The Architecture of Leadership: Preparation Equals Performance (scheduled for release in February, 2008).
