Prudential Names New President of Retirement Business
NEWARK, NJ, August 21, 2007 -- Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU) today named Christine C. Marcks president of Prudential Retirement, a total retirement services business offering retirement plan solutions for public, private, and non-profit organizations. Marcks, a 20-year veteran in the retirement and related financial services industry, currently oversees the company's personal retirement services and retirement income businesses.
The announcement follows the resignation of John Y. Kim, who was head of the company's Retirement business.
"Chris joined Prudential in 2005 and has played a significant role in the design and launch of programs and products to help plan participants better prepare for living in retirement," said Prudential Vice Chairman John Strangfeld. "She has a unique mix of experience in managing both institutional and individual retirement businesses, so she brings the knowledge and perspective that will guide the future direction of the retirement business."
Prior to joining Prudential Retirement, Marcks spent four years at ING Financial Services where she built and managed ING's IRA rollover and payout-annuity business. In her 13 years at Aetna, Inc., Marcks held a range of leadership positions in the defined contribution, marketing, and product development areas. Marcks holds a BA in Foreign Affairs from Assumption College and an MA in Economics from Georgetown University.
