New York Life Retirement Plan Services Appoints New Southeast VP of Sales
WESTWOOD, MA, May 14, 2008 -- New York Life Retirement Plan Services, a division of New York Life Investment Management LLC, announced the appointment of William (Bill) R. Kline as vice president of sales for the southeastern United States. Based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kline will be responsible for expanding the company's 401k and defined benefit market segments throughout the region. He will report to Mark Strazzeri, managing director and head of sales for New York Life Retirement Plan Services.

Kline, 43, has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement plan industry. He joins New York Life from CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, Raleigh, N.C., where he spent the last three years as managing director in its retirement plan advisory group, reporting to Fielding Miller, CEO and managing director of CAPTRUST.
"Bill's passion is building relationships and helping advisors grow their revenue, both of which he did for CAPTRUST. His new role is a good thing for retirement advisors throughout the Southeast. We wish him strong success," Miller commented.
Earlier in his career, Kline served as a national sales manager for Wachovia Corporation, Charlotte, N.C., as well as in institutional equity sales for J.C. Bradford & Co., Nashville, Tenn., and for The Robinson Humphrey Company, Atlanta, Ga. Prior to that, he held sales and marketing roles with Furman Selz, Inc., New York, and Continental Insurance, New York.
Kline has his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with distinction, from the University of Michigan, and his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Kline, his wife Margaret, and their three children will reside in Raleigh.
