10th Edition of 401k Fee Comparison Book Released

BALTIMORE, MD, October 29, 2009 -- 401k Averages Book 10th Edition has been released. Published since 1995, the 401k Averages Book is the only resource book available for non-biased, comparative 401k fee information. The book is designed to help employers and their advisors quickly compare their 401k plan costs to relevant averages.

New for this Year: Never before released average fee data for plans with $10,000 average account balances.

In addition to the average cost information for plans with $50,000 average account balances, the 10th Edition includes never before released average fee information for plans with $10,000 average account balances. "With the market decline, participant balances have decreased and the need for average fee information on plans with lower average account balances increased," says David W. Huntley, co-author of the 401k Averages Book. "It is important to compare your plan to an average that represents what plans of similar participant and balance size are charged."

"With all the focus on 401k fees and fiduciary responsibilities, employers and their advisors need to know how their fees stack up," says Joseph W. Valletta, CFA, co-author of the 401k Averages Book. "The book has sixteen sections detailing average fees for plans with 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000 participants." All fee charts and data has been updated through June 30, 2009.

The 401k Averages Book includes updated charts illustrating:

  • Average Plan Cost per Participant
  • Percentage Breakdown of Plan Costs
  • Range of Total Plan Costs
  • Average Investment Expenses
  • Range of Investment Expense

The 10th Edition 401k Averages Book is available for $95. The updated Averages Book can be ordered by calling 888.401.3089 or via the Internet at www.401ksource.com.
