New 401k Education Company Founded

MIAMI, FL, January 29, 2009 -- In response to the need for organizations to provide qualified training to their employees regarding 401k plans and coupled with the hurting economy, 401kTrainers.com was formed to educate employees about their retirement plans.

"We do not want to take over a company's 401k plan and we are not selling plans," said Emile De Boyrie, company founder, president and CEO who has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. "Our goal is to educate employees about their plans so they can navigate their investments and reach desired goals."

The 401kTrainers.com team is composed of investment advisors who not only offer training, but also are licensed financial advisors who can provide the information and education necessary for employees to make educated decision about their investment.

The team works by reviewing an organization's current 401k plan and investment options and prepares a 45-minute training session for employees. The training covers financial market updates, reviews the investment choices available in the company's 401k plan, and provides general education on asset allocation. These sessions are held at times and locations requested by the employer and are currently available in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with Creole coming soon.

De Boyrie said that investment training is essential. With the enactment of the Pension Protection Act in November of 2006 and the revisions to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) rules, the need to place additional attention to providing general market and investment education and training to employees has been reiterated. Providing investment information for employees, but not investment advice, is essential. The Department of Labor has issued guidance describing the difference between investment education and advice under ERISA.

SEC Regulation 404(c) charges HR associates with carrying out duties 'prudently'. Hiring a financial advisor or a 401k trainer, who educates employees of their employer's 401k plan, potentially lowers the company's liability. More importantly, the training gives employees the information needed to make informed decisions regarding their investment goals and appropriate retirement planning.

Large corporations (with more than 1,000 employees) as a general rule, contract large 401k venues to provide the investment platform and the training. Unfortunately, many of the employees are directed to an online training site that can be difficult to navigate resulting in investment goals being made without any guidance from a professional advisor, De Boyrie said.

"With 401kTrainers.com, all employees attend a 45-minute session, in the language of their choice, so they can fully understand their investment," he said. "No employee is left with questions, they leave the session with a complete understanding of their retirement."
