Future of Asset Allocated Funds Conference Set for March

STAMFORD, CT, February 23, 2009 -- Asset International today announced that the Future of Asset Allocated Funds (FAAF) Conference, hosted by PLANSPONSOR and PLANADVISER magazines, will kick-off the company's 2009 conference season. Slated for March 3-4, 2009, in Sarasota, FL, this is the 2nd annual FAAF conference, continuing the company's efforts to provide the latest, most relevant insights and information to retirement plan sponsors and advisers.

"Ironically, the very same funds that can make complex investment decisions so much easier for participants can actually present plan sponsors -- and the advisers who support them -- with a more difficult decision-making process," noted Nevin Adams, Editor-in-Chief of PLANSPONSOR. "And, with more than a third of employer respondents to PLANSPONSOR's 2008 Defined Contribution Survey admitting they were "not sure" their record keeper was offering the most appropriate target-date fund choice, that realization clearly is sinking in."

Asset allocation funds include target-date funds, managed accounts, and risk-based lifestyle funds, some of the most popular investment choices for 401k plans today. To keep abreast of the issues surrounding these funds, more than 150 plan sponsors, advisers and providers attended the initial FAAF conference last year.

Beyond FAAF, other upcoming Asset International events include: the 16th annual PLANSPONSOR/PLANADVISOR Awards for Excellence Dinner - which this year will include the first-ever "ALTIES" Awards for excellence in alternative investment programs, as well as the naming of the Retirement Plan Adviser, Retirement Plan Adviser Team, and Plan Sponsors of the Year - April 2 in New York; and the second-annual 403(b) Summit to be held April 14-16 in Orlando, FL, focused on providing sponsors and advisers with information and guidance on best practices in administering these programs following the January 2009 effective date of new IRS regulations. (NOTE TO EDITORS - Plan Sponsor of the Year award finalists were announced Feb 18. A list is available at www.plansponsor.com)

"Creating a community environment for our audiences to discuss the key issues of the market and the economy are an essential component of their success and our mission," said Jim Casella, CEO of Asset International. "Given the global economic forces currently working against them, we are committed to providing our customers with access to the best resources, analysis and information that will enable them to manage their funds and businesses effectively."
