Newport Appoints Ann Ennis As Head of Financial Institution Services
ORLANDO, FL, December 16, 2009 -- The Newport Group, a leading national provider of retirement and executive benefit plans and investment consulting services, announced today that it has appointed Ann Ennis to the position of Vice President, Financial Institution Services.
In this newly created role, Ms. Ennis will build on Newport's established presence in the bank and financial institution marketplace. Newport's comprehensive asset management and insurance services-including consulting, asset management, compliance and administration-fill an important need for many banks today, helping them ensure their current bank-owned life insurance (BOLI) holdings satisfy their business objectives and are consistent with regulatory requirements. These services minimize the administrative burden on the bank, maximize investment returns, and mitigate risk.
Ms. Ennis will lead all aspects of this important Newport business segment, leveraging the firm's robust suite of tools, capabilities, and in-house experts. She will expand Newport's distribution by leveraging existing intermediary relationships and developing new channels and relationships. Additionally, she will oversee Newport's BOLI client development and administrative support units.
"Ann is a well-known figure in the industry, with 20 years of experience specific to BOLI, COLI [corporate owned life insurance], and executive benefits," said Bryant Kirk, Newport's Chief Operating Officer. "Creating this position and filling it with a seasoned, high-caliber executive like Ann demonstrates our commitment to this important segment of our business."
Most recently, Ms. Ennis served as national executive benefits director with Great-West Life, where she was responsible for BOLI and COLI product sales. She held a similar role with Prudential, and has worked with a number of the industry's leading firms, including New York Life, Northwestern Mutual and Clark Consulting.
"Newport has many years of experience designing customized BOLI programs and fully supporting them with consulting, asset management, compliance and administration," Ms. Ennis said. "It's a pleasure to join a firm which is a recognized leader in this field."
Ms. Ennis earned her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She holds the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), as well as FINRA Series 7, 6, 63, 65 and 24 securities registrations and insurance licenses in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
