Tom Johnson Joins New York Life as Head of Business Development for Retirement Income Security
NEW YORK, NY, November 4, 2009 -- New York Life Insurance Company today announced that Tom Johnson has joined the company as head of business development for Retirement Income Security, a leader in providing retirement planning solutions. In this role, he has responsibility for overall business development of Retirement Income Security products, which include income and investment annuities, long-term care insurance and mutual funds, with an emphasis on defined contribution plans and 401k rollover options. Mr. Johnson reports to Chris Blunt, executive vice president in charge of Retirement Income Security.

Mr. Johnson joins New York Life with 33 years in this industry, most recently with MassMutual as senior vice presidentRetirement Income, Strategic Business Development, where he led business development of their retirement income platform. In addition to over 10 years at MassMutual, he worked at Federated Investors, Inc. and his family firm, The Johnson Companies.
Mr. Johnson received a B.A from Gettysburg College and completed the Management Development program at Harvard University. He resides in Hingham, Mass., with his wife, Joyce Sullivan.
