Overlap Inc. Makes Major Push into Retirement Plan Marketplace
KANSAS CITY, MO, September 16, 2009 -- Overlap® Inc., a leading provider of tools to measure mutual fund diversification today announced that it is launching a major push into the retirement plan services marketplace.
In a move designed to build upon success in the wealth management area, Kevin Fryer, Overlap® CEO noted that "the retirement plan industry is a natural fit for the Overlap report. Plan fiduciaries, vendors and advisors need a simple but effective tool to measure plan level diversification. The market turmoil of the last 18 months has clearly demonstrated that many plan fund lineups were not as well diversified as sponsors and participants may have thought."
The effort includes a new key marketing appointment, a targeted direct marketing campaign, and exhibiting and networking at several prominent industry conferences. "The retirement plan industry has a number of segments that are important for Overlap®, including advisors, TPA's, product vendors and plan sponsors," notes Fryer. "Lou Stouch brings extensive marketing and sales expertise to bear in these areas, and a firm grasp of the issues faced by plan fiduciaries and their advisors."
"Where mutual funds are the plan investment options, we have an exceptionally powerful and easy to understand tool in the one page Overlap® report," notes Lou Stouch, Overlaps marketing manager. "High levels of security holdings overlap between plan funds reflect poor diversification. This is absolutely critical information for sponsors, vendors and participants that has not previously been readily and cost effectively available."
With no software to install, Overlap® is web based and provides a comprehensive plan level fund review. Its output can be received by institutional users electronically and uploaded directly into private label plan sponsor reports and quarterly participant account statements.
About Overlap, Inc.
Overlap® was founded in 1996 by Bill Chennault, who determined that there were no practical means for measuring the overlap of securities among a group of mutual funds. Chennault began work on a software program to rectify that situation, an effort that grew into the Overlap® proprietary software originally issued on floppy disk. Contact 216.226.5006.
