CNM LLP Expands Plan Audit Practice to Include 403(b)'s
WOODLAND HILLS, CA, May 27, 2010 -- CNM LLP, an independent accounting and advisory services firm today announced the expansion of its Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice to include 403(b) plan audit services for nonprofit organizations.
According to new regulations issued by the Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, effective January 1, 2009, 403(b) plan filings are subject to the same Form 5500 filing requirements as 401k plans. In response to these new requirements, CNM is now offering 403(b) retirement plan audit services to nonprofits.
CNM's Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice, which is led by John Russon, CPA, performed nearly 70 employee benefit plan audits in 2009. “We are extremely proud of the tremendous growth John and our Employee Benefit Plan Audit group have achieved over the past few years,” said Nathan Matthews, managing partner of CNM LLP. “Our specialized expertise in benefit plan audits has enabled CNM to serve clients in an extremely efficient and cost effective manner. This has resulted in high client satisfaction and rapid growth for our retirement plan audit work.”
“The market for benefit plan audits is highly fragmented with several thousand firms auditing less than five plans,” said Mr. Russon. “We believe that our specialized expertise combined with our commitment to delivering a high level of client service at the right price has enabled us to build a leadership position in this fragmented market. We look forward to leveraging our unparalleled reputation in the retirement plan audit market to serve new 403(b) plan audit clients.”
