Department of Labor's ERISA Advisory Council Announces First Meeting of 2010

    
WASHINGTON, DC, March 5, 2010 -- The Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, also known as the ERISA Advisory Council, will hold its first meeting of 2010 on March 22 in Washington, D.C., at the U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue NW, Room S-2508.

The council will meet from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. EDT. The meeting will begin with the introduction of the council chair and vice chair. The meeting also will include an update on the activities of the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration and a determination of topics to be addressed by the 2010 advisory council.

Advisory council meetings are open to the public. Members of the public may also submit written statements to the council by March 15. Submissions should be addressed to the council's executive secretary, Larry Good, via regular mail to ERISA Advisory Council, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue NW, Room N-5623, Washington, D.C. 20210, or electronically as e-mail attachments to good.larry@dol.gov. The ERISA Advisory Council consists of 15 members appointed to staggered three-year terms by the secretary of labor. The members represent the general public, employers, employee organizations and the fields of insurance, corporate trust, investment management, investment counseling, accounting and actuarial counseling.
