Great-West Retirement Services Expands National Sales Team
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO, May 25, 2010 -- Great-West Retirement Services has appointed Gary Plourde, a 20-year sales veteran and former Great-West sales manager, as regional director of national accounts for its southeast market, announced Chris Cumming, senior vice president of defined contribution markets. Plourde will report to Pete Margiotta, national sales director.
In this newly created position, Plourde, based near Orlando, Fla., is responsible for sales of retirement plans to sponsors of 401k, 401(a), 403(b) and non-governmental 457 retirement plans in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and Washington, D.C. He joins regional directors of national accounts, Greg Hodges, who serves the West Coast market, and Dan Schatz, who serves the Midwest market. This year, the organization plans to hire a second regional sales director for the Midwest, as well as one for the Rocky Mountain region.

Plourde re-joins Great-West Retirement Services from DailyAccess Corporation, where he served as senior vice president of sales and distribution, overseeing all sales and marketing efforts. Prior to joining DailyAccess last year, he spent nearly nine years at SunTrust bank in Orlando - serving as senior vice president, national sales manager. While at SunTrust, his responsibilities included directing sales and marketing plans for the Orlando bank's Retirement Services and Endowments & Foundations business lines. Plourde was a regional sales manager with Great-West's Chicago and Michigan offices for 10 years before he moved to SunTrust.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Communications from Oakland University. Plourde also holds FINRA Series 6, 63 and 26 securities registrations and Florida life and health licenses.
"We've experienced strong sales growth in our national 401k and healthcare retirement businesses," Cumming said. "With the addition of Gary and two more national sales hires scheduled for later this year, we're poised to enjoy additional growth in all parts of the country."
