Hand Benefits and Trust Hires Institutional Trust Consultant

HOUSTON, TX, November 15, 2010 -- Hand Benefits and Trust Company announces the appointment of Martin Campbell to the new position of Senior Consultant Institutional Trust responsible for collective trust fund sales and consulting. The trust company, a division of BPAS, provides daily valuation services to collective trust funds for investment management companies, registered investment advisors, 401k TPA's and other financial institutions.

Martin was previously a senior product manager with Northern Trust's Corporate and Institutional Services group where he worked with multinationals and investment managers launching commingled investment vehicles for pension plan investors. "Martin's experience helping large plan sponsors and financial institutions select and launch investment vehicles will benefit our clients who are developing some of the most innovative investment solutions for 401k defined contribution plans in the market today" says David Hand, CEO of Hand Benefits and Trust Company. In this new role Martin will consult with mutual fund companies, registered investment advisors, pension consultants, 401k recordkeepers and bank trust departments in the establishment of 401k and retirement plan collective trust funds.

U.S. plan sponsors are demanding specialized investment solutions, which offer professional management over investment selection and asset allocation, to help plan participants meet their financial goals in retirement. In addition, collective funds have "full fee transparency" with regards to provider fees allowing ERISA plans to effectively negotiate and monitor costs. Given this backdrop, collective trust funds offer asset managers and advisors a compelling alternative to traditional mutual funds. Martin commented "I am joining an experienced team at Hand Benefits and Trust and look forward to working with our clients to create the next generation of investment solutions in the retirement space."
