2003 ERISA Outline Book Now Available From ASPA

ARLINGTON, VA, December 6, 2002 -- The 2003 edition of The ERISA Outline Book—a MUST for pension professionals--is now available for purchase through ASPA (American Society of Pension Actuaries). The newest version includes updates and information about deadlines for GUST and EGTRRA, amended participant loan regulations, final minimum distribution regulations, blackout notice regulations, and includes expanded information on 403(b) plans, 457 plans and IRAs. A new edition of this four-volume, one-of-a-kind reference book is published every year. All four volumes are also available on a searchable CD-ROM.

The ERISA Outline Book, authored by ASPA member Sal L. Tripodi, APM, and first published in 1998, is one of the most widely used reference books in the pension field and continues to receive excellent reviews. According to Michael L. Bain, MSPA, ASPA Education and Examination Committee General Chair, “If there is one book all pension professionals must have in their libraries, it is The ERISA Outline Book. This high quality reference book has enhanced the education of retirement plan professionals around the country.” The book is also required reading for ASPA’s C-2(DC) exam (Administrative Issues of Defined Contribution Plans) --one of the exams that leads to a professional designation such as the Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), the Qualified 401k Administrator (QKA), and the Certified Pension Consultant (CPC).

Also new for 2003 is The ERISA Outline Book C-1 Student Edition. For the first time ever, there is now a book designed specifically for students studying for ASPA’s C-1 examination (Administrative and Qualification Issues of Retirement Plans). This C-1 Student Edition provides only the information from The ERISA Outline Book that C-1 examination candidates will need to study for the exam.

To purchase the 2003 edition of The ERISA Outline Book, or the C-1 Student Edition, download an order form on ASPA’s Web site at http://www.aspa.org/educationpages/ASPAedu.htm, contact ASPA’s Education department at (703) 516-9300, or e-mail us at educaspa@aspa.org. Current developments adding to the currently released version of The ERISA Outline Book are also posted at the TRI Pension Services Web site at www.cyberisa.com and are organized by chapter and by date released.

ASPA is a national organization of retirement plan professionals dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the private pension system in the United States. ASPA offers education and professional credentials for 401k administrators (QKA), actuaries (FSPA, MSPA), pension consultants (CPC), pension administrators (QPA), and other benefits professionals (APM). ASPA’s nearly 5,000 members provide consulting services and administrative support to over half of the private retirement plans in the country.
